- SF in one piecepiece length × piece width ÷ 14424 × 16 (in) ÷ 144 = 2.667

Where the numbers come from
- Piece and pallet sizes (Sod Solutions): Slabs 16" × 24" = 2.67 SF, pallets of 400, 450 or 500 SF · mini rolls 40" × 18" = 5 SF, pallets of 400, 450 or 500 SF · big rolls 60" × 24" (or 80" × 18") = 10 SF, pallets of 500, 600 or 700 SFEvery farm cuts its own size, so use the SF per pallet your supplier quotes. Slabs are more common in the South, rolls in the North. Some farms add a slab, so a "450 SF" pallet of 16" × 24" slabs is 170 slabs = 453 SF. Cuts around beds, walks and curves are not included: enter waste for those.Source
- Topsoil: Lawn SF × depth ÷ 12 ÷ 27 = CYOptional. Leave depth at 0 if the soil is already graded. Topsoil is figured on the lawn area without waste.
